About the Shark UL
The Shark UL is the ultralight variant of the Shark by Shark Aero (shark.aero) from Slovakia. With its retractable landing gear, variable-pitch propeller and full carbon construction, it achieves cruise speeds of up to 300 km/h – powered by a Rotax 912 ULS (100 hp). Fuel consumption is only 20 litres per hour at 75% power.
The Shark was developed in 2006 by Vladimír Pekár and Jaroslav Dostál and completed its first flight on 19 August 2009. The tandem seating arrangement allows a narrower fuselage and consequently lower drag than side-by-side ultralights. The F-16-style canopy provides excellent visibility in all directions.
With integral wing tanks, range extends to approximately 2,000 km. Used examples are rare and trade between EUR 100,000 and 160,000.
